As we step into 2025, it’s a great time to check in on your mental well-being and reflect on what truly matters. In this month’s edition, I’m sharing insights on understanding depression, and a look at the training sessions I’ve delivered this month.
To support those looking for evidence-based strategies, I’m also including a free resource: ‘A Guide to What Works for Depression’ from Beyond Blue. It’s a valuable tool for understanding different treatment options and making informed decisions about mental health.
This evidence-based guide from Beyond Blue explores the most effective treatments for depression, based on real research. If you’ve ever wondered which therapies, lifestyle changes, or medications are actually proven to work, this resource breaks it down in a simple and practical way.

The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt
In The Anxious Generation, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt explores the rising rates of anxiety and depression in young people, linking it to excessive screen time, social media, and modern parenting trends. Using compelling research and real-world data, he argues that reclaiming childhood and reducing screen exposure could be the key to reversing the mental health crisis.
If you work with teens, have children, or are simply interested in the science of anxiety, this book offers insightful solutions for today’s mental health challenges.

January Reflections
This month, I added four new members to my household—meet my chickens! Doris, Dixie, Delilah and Daisy!
Between working with clients, running courses and creating new content, they’ve kept me entertained with their antics. It’s been a great reminder to slow down and enjoy small moments of joy—although Freddie is not sure about them just yet…
