Hi, I'm Dal!

My Credentials

I am a Clinical Hypno-Psychotherapist and Principal Master Instructor of Mental Health First Aid. I have trained thousands of Australians in accredited MHFA courses for workplaces, schools, and community organisations.

I hold an Associate Degree in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy, an Advanced Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy, and a Diploma in Hypno-Counselling.

I am currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy to deepen my clinical knowledge and ensure my work remains grounded in contemporary therapeutic research and best practice.

My clinical training included supervised practice and a research paper on Clinical Hypno-Psychotherapy for Alcohol Dependency using a trauma-informed framework.

I also hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Adult Learning) from De Montfort University in the UK and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment in Australia, which support my work as an international trainer and educator.

To maintain high standards of care, I undertake monthly individual and group clinical supervision with the Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy in South Australia.

I am a professional member of the Australian Hypnotherapists Association.

Why I Became a Clinical Hypno-Psychotherapist

For decades I experienced traditional talk therapy. It gave me space to speak, but it did not create the deep change I needed. At times it required me to revisit painful memories without calming the underlying nervous system response.

In my 40s, I discovered integrative hypno-psychotherapy. For the first time, I felt safe, calm, and able to shift long-standing trauma patterns. That experience changed the direction of my life. I retrained so I could offer others a therapeutic approach that works not only with thoughts, but with the body and nervous system.

How I Work

I use trauma-focused approaches including:
• Clinical hypnotherapy
• Regression and parts work
• Enhanced CBT
• The Rewind Technique for trauma
• Inner child work
• Mindfulness-based emotional regulation

Every treatment plan is tailored. My clients are the experts on themselves. We work collaboratively towards clear, future-focused outcomes with measurable progress.

My Story

Born and raised in England, my childhood was marked by instability and a lack of safety. I ran away from home at 16. I carried Complex PTSD into adulthood and coped through overworking, people-pleasing, withdrawal, and alcohol.

In my twenties, I worked on cruise ships searching for freedom. During this time, I met the love of my life. Together we survived 9/11 in New York and the 2004 tsunami in Thailand. In 2006, we emigrated to Australia to build a new life.

In 2011, he passed away. His death was devastating. He was the first person who had made me feel truly safe. I chose to remain in Australia and slowly rebuilt my life. This meant confronting Complex PTSD, addressing alcohol dependency, and learning how to live with greater self-awareness and emotional regulation.

These experiences shaped my understanding of trauma and recovery.

Why I Do This Work

Education changed everything for me.
Understanding how trauma affects the brain and nervous system allowed me to make sense of my history and move forward.

The same knowledge and tools that supported my healing now inform my clinical work.

Clients often tell me they value my empathy, clarity, and the way I explain complex psychological processes in practical terms. They also appreciate that progress is measured, not assumed.

My Commitment

Whether through therapy or education, my aim remains consistent:

To support people living with Complex PTSD and trauma to feel safe, understood, and capable of reclaiming their lives.
