Spirulina is blue-green algae that are rich in phytonutrients and carotenoids. These are powerful antioxidants, which help defend your skin and body from free radicals. It also contains beta-carotene and trace elements, which are beneficial to damaged or ageing skin. Spirulina can be sourced from most health food shops. Application on a daily basis can be effective in treating oily and acne prone skin.
1 Tablespoon of spirulina powder
2 Tablespoons of green or white clay powder
1 Tablespoon of olive oil
Put the spirulina and clay into a bowl and stir with the olive oil. Add 3 tablespoons of water and without stirring leave the mixture for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, mix to make a smooth paste.
Apply to a cleansed face and neck evenly and leave for 20 minutes. Remove the mask and wash the face with water, patting the face dry gently to dry. To complete the treatment, apply some of the rosewater to cotton pads and press into the skin. Leave to dry naturally and finish by applying your desired moisturizer.
