Forming a new habit can seem daunting but the more you repeat your new habits daily, the more ingrained they become. Try not to worry about how effective your habits are to begin with, start by implementing them and then watch their quality improve over time. So, start with smalls wins and watch them grow and become more powerful. Wake up early – 15 to 30 minutes to be precise.
Tip number 1 - Water
When you wake up after a long sleep, your body is naturally dehydrated. No matter how much water you drank the day before, you have used up your stores and it’s time to refill the tank.
Tip number 2 - Silence/Meditation
If you are new to meditation, you can start your practice with just 2 minutes a day. Yes, that’s right, just 2 minutes!
Tip number 3 - Affirmations.
A simple morning affirmation such as “I am healthy” can go a long way. By affirming positive statements, it makes you aware of your daily thoughts and words and helps keep negativity away.
Tip number 4 - Visualizations
Visualising your desired dreams as already complete can rapidly accelerate your achievement to those dreams, goals and ambitions. I am a huge fan of vision boards and you can look at your board each morning to mentally picture yourself doing the work you have to do today, in order to make progress.
Tip number 5 - Journaling
Writing in a journal is a great way to get your thoughts out of your head and onto paper. Think about the lessons you have learned and what new commitments you plan to make for your future. Pick small commitments and limited to the day (example – I will drink 2 more glasses of water today)
Tip number 6 - Reading
In the morning your mind is more concentrated, fresh and crystal clear, which makes this a great time to read a page or chapter from an inspirational book.
Tip number 7 - Exercise
Your mind should now be fully active so it’s time to activate your body!
Exercising in the mornings not only energises you and gets your blood flowing but it also helps make you feel accomplished and good about yourself because you were actually able to make this happen.
Start small and as time passes you will see all the positive benefits of waking up early and accomplishing so much to help you maintain a strong and healthy mindset.
