Bananas are extremely nourishing on the skin thanks to them containing large quantities of potassium, iron, magnesium, iodine, zinc and vitamins A, B (folic acid), E and F. By mixing banana with organic honey and double cream (used to prevent wrinkles traditionally) you have the perfect recipe full of nutrients which can calm redness and inflamed skin as well as reducing acne.
Losing elasticity in the skin is what causes wrinkles and the vitamin C and antioxidants in bananas can help minimise the appearance of these fine lines.
1 Small banana
2 Tablespoons of fresh double cream
1 Tablespoon of organic honey
1 Tablespoon of potato flour
In a small bowl, mash the banana using the back of a fork. Once mashed, add 2 tablespoons of fresh double cream, 1 tablespoon of organic honey and 1 tablespoon of potato flour. Mix the well so a smooth paste is formed. You should be aiming for a consistency of thick cream or yoghurt. Depending on how the consistency turns out, you may want to a little more of the cream, honey and potato flour.
Apply the nourish mask to a thoroughly cleansed face and be sure to include the area around the eyes and neck. Once you have applied an even amount of the mask, leave it on for 30 minutes.
Rinse the mask off with with water. Apply some rosewater to cotton pads and press into the skin around the face and neck, allowing it to dry naturally. Complete the process with an application of your desired nourishing facial moisturiser.
